We received a very lengthy but noteworthy nomination document for this year’s Award of Merit.  The document of 8 pages listed several operations conducted and 22 names of personnel from the New Jersey State Police, Motor Vehicle Crimes North Unit, as part of the Auto Theft Task Force, for the exemplary service and excellence in investigations performed by those members in 2023. Very briefly, this included 141 investigations, with the arrests of 201 criminal offenders, seizure of 17 firearms, seizure of over $567,000 in US Currency, dismantling of 10 chop shops, and the recovery of 203 stolen vehicles. Additionally, a large amount of narcotics and 88 search warrants were executed.  Please congratulate the members of the New Jersey State Police, Motor Vehicle Crimes North Unit.
