Scott Liska has been a member of the Colorado State Patrol since January 2000 and is currently a Master Sergeant assigned to the Investigative Services Section (ISS) with the focus on motor vehicle theft in Northern Colorado. Master Sergeant Liska has an extensive background in crash investigation and reconstruction and is certified with ACTAR (Accredited Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstructionists). As a result of Master Sergeant Liska’s dedication to the investigation of numerous very high profile and horrific crashes, he has received awards from several local agencies, Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD), 17th Judicial District and 18th Judicial District in Colorado. In 2023, Master Sergeant Liska transferred to ISS and took over as the coordinator for Beat Auto Theft Through Law Enforcement (BATTLE) North in Boulder, Larimer and Weld counties. BATTLE North is currently the largest region with 25 active agencies. Master Sergeant Liska as the BATTLE North Coordinator received an award from CATPA for having the greatest reduction in motor vehicle theft in Colorado. Master Sergeant Liska holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Eastern New Mexico University. Master Sergeant Liska is also a full-skills emergency vehicle driving instructor, Taser instructor, and the less lethal coordinator for the Colorado State Patrol.
